Lately, I have reallized the great difference within the Christian womanhood. Even within the "Christian" sphere there is such a large variety of housewivery and the like. I find the more I allow the Lord to change me the further away from modern Christianity I get. I find that there are many feminists in the church and they are not bashful about telling you where you are going wrong. I have had people assume that my husband is stifling my inner self and obviously is a controller simply because I stay at home and do not attend yoga, get manicures, or take night classes at the local college. Nothing wrong with these things as long as we aren't doing them with wrong selfish motives.
How sad that we have come this far! Woman 150 years ago would be shocked to see that we, for the most part, aren't really taking care of our own families. We have left it up to schools, daycares, and prefessional nannies to do it for us. Now to say, I understand that some women have to work, as I did for years as a single mother. Some women are married to men who don't take care of their families and don't take seriously their respinsiblitly to provide.
